Fabian Fucan (awesome name) Rejects Christianity
Fabian Fucan rejects Christianity for several religious, cultural, historical, political, and social reasons. Some religious reasons for why he rejects and attacks Christianity is the fact that Japan was regarded as "The Land of the Gods", meaning they had plural gods...more than one... and Christianity is a monotheistic religion. A cultural reason for why he casts off Christianity is that Buddhism and Confucianism were more normal Japanese philosophical beliefs so he felt that he should be more traditional. The political reason for Fucan's attack on Christianity is that Japan's rulers were seen as heavenly and Christianity looked down on this belief, no sons, or children, or anything like that from God. As a social reason, Fucan rejected because Christianity was looked down upon by many Japanese, they weren't very well liked and weren't really outcast in the sense of being exiled, but no one really wanted to associate with them. Those reasons are why Fucan rejects Christianity, or at least those are what I think they are.
